Internal Reorganization

The Executive Committee of the Democratic Party of Puerto Rico (DPPR) met on November 5, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. to consider matters concerning the internal reorganization.  The Rules for the Reorganization Processes of the Democratic Party of Puerto Rico were passed.  Click here for a copy of the Rules (in Spanish).


In addition, the Executive Committee decided to hold the General Assembly on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Cataño Convention Center located on Avenida Las Nereidas #36, Cataño, PR.  A strict protocol was also adopted to ensure the safety and health of all attendees to the General Assembly. Certification for Candidacies - Internal Reorganization 


Pursuant to Section 2.5 of the Rules for the Reorganization Processes of the Democratic Party of Puerto Rico, the following candidates have withdrawn for consideration:


Angel D. Vélez Pérez

Simón Enrique Carlo Valentín

Paloma Isabel Crespo Santiago

Christie S. Garnsey Hernández

Luis Angel Rodríguez Díaz


Candidates wanting to withdraw their candidacy must do so by 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2020.

Pursuant to Section 2.6 of the Rules for the Internal Reorganization Processes of the Democratic Party of Puerto Rico (Spanish version only), designated or requested observers of candidates, as the case may be, shall be notified to the Electoral Commissioner no later than November 18, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. by filing a form for such purposes available online on this website.  


Having met the deadline for submitting observers, a total of twenty-seven (27) observer application forms were received.  Because not more than five (5) observer requests were submitted among candidates for each polling board per senatorial district, a draw will not be required to choose observers.  


All requests for observers are approved subject that the information provided in the form is validated as correct and truthful by the Electoral Commissioner or his authorized representative. Download the list of observers presented.
