A REORGANIZACION EL PARTIDO DEMOCRATA DE PUERTO RICO

SAN JUAN - La reorganización del Partido Demócrata de Puerto Rico se realizará el próximo sábado 21 de noviembre en una votación presencial en el Centro de Convenciones de Cataño, según lo anunció el presidente de dicha colectividad, licenciado Charlie Rodríguez.

Ejercitando lo que dicta su reglamento, Rodríguez informó que la votación en la Asamblea General se llevará a cabo mediante el sistema de colegio abierto.  La votación comenzará a las 9:00 am y concluirá a la 1:00 pm.  Además, se implantará un protocolo de salud exigiendo el uso de mascarillas, distanciamiento social, toma de temperatura, gel o toallitas desinfectantes y antibacteriales, y guantes para los funcionarios electorales.

“Cualquier persona puede votar siempre y cuando esté inscrito y activo en el Registro General de Electores al 3 de noviembre de 2020.  Asimismo, para ejercer el derecho al voto, todo elector deberá mostrar su tarjeta de identificación electoral, licencia de conducir o pasaporte”, indicó.

Mediante la votación se seleccionará al presidente, vicepresidenta, committeewoman, committeeman, dos miembros electos por cada distrito senatorial y diez miembros por acumulación.  Un total de 83 personas radicaron para estas posiciones.

De conformidad al Artículo Nueve, Sección 12 de la Carta (Charter) del Partido Demócrata de Estados Unidos, la Asamblea General será abierta al público y las votaciones no se realizarán mediante votación secreta.  Es por lo que se requiere que cada elector firme o escriba su nombre en la papeleta de votación.

SAN JUAN - The reorganization of the Democratic Party of Puerto Rico will take place next Saturday, November 21, in an open voting process at the Cataño Convention Center, was announced by the party Chairman Charles Rodríguez.

Rodríguez informed that the General Assembly voting process will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 1:00 pm. In addition, a safety and health protocol will be implemented requiring mandatory use of masks, social distancing, taking of temperature, disinfectant and antibacterial gel or wipes, and gloves for polling officials.

"Anyone can vote as long as they are registered and active in the Puerto Rico General Registry of Voters as of November 3, 2020.  Also, to exercise the right to vote, all voters must identify with the polling officials by means of their electoral identification card, driver’s license, or passport", said Rodriguez.

Voters will select the Chairman, Vice Chair, Committeewoman, Committeeman, two elected members from each senatorial district and ten at-large members.  A total of 83 people filed for these positions.

Pursuant to Article Nine, Section 12 of the Charter of the Democratic Party of the United States, the General Assembly will be open to the public and voting will not be conducted by secret ballot. This is why voters are required to sign or write their name on the ballot.
